Diet Myths That May Make You Fat or Hormonally Unbalanced Part I: Vegetarianism

It’s Monday and my workday isn’t half over and I have already worked with 2 women who have unknowingly damaged their bodies, brains and hormonal systems by food and diet myths.

To eat meat or not to eat meat, that is the question. Fat Sick and Nearly Dead, Forks over Knives and other movies that showed the power of juicing and healthy eating are excellent movies but rarely when people decide to start a Juice Fast or become Vegetarian do they do it right.

They switch to vegetarianism or veganism without a proper plan of getting the nutrients and protein they need.  A veggie burger a day does not keep the doctor away…  in fact through time if the body is not getting what it needs, I think insidious symptoms like fatigue, sleep disorders, mood disorders, depression, and hormonal imbalance will occur.

If a newbie vegetarian adds more fast carbs, coffee etc. to their diet, they might see weight gain and moodiness. Add some high stress to this equation and they are walking towards a mental breakdown. YIKES.

The sad part is it’s not just vegetarians who struggle with these symptoms. Many women and men I work with do not eat enough protein and other nutrients and their daily diet is high in sugars.

Soon they end up in the doctors’ office and many are misdiagnosed.  The root of the problem is nutritional but sadly they are put on drugs like Zanax, Antidepressants, and Sleep Aids all that have side effects and what were meant to be short term relief ends up being decades of medications.

Let’s STOP THE MADDNESS! Literally… the body needs protein and good sources of it.  All of us Veggies and Non Veggies should be getting good sources of protein and a variety of it.

Clean grass fed beef, chicken free of antibiotics and hormones…. (Yes that means those smaller more expensive chicken breasts are better for you), wild caught fish and more great tips here in this article I did.

If you are a newbie Vegetarian or a person who rarely or never eats meat, I recommend Young Living’s Power Meal and NingXia Red to get your protein, vitamins and minerals the body needs.

NingXia Red has 21 minerals, amino acids and essential nutrients the body needs. Power Meal, a meal replacement helps to get protein in all while maintaining a healthy sugar level.

Some clients are limited in what they can spend on groceries and nutrition. If you are on a budget, make sure you get at least 2 oz. of NingXia Red a day in. When you can spend more, get 2 oz. 3 times a day in to help not only flood the body with nutrition but regenerate the body. In addition, at least 1 Power Meal shake with dark berries like blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, or raspberries are excellent.

This power duo of Power Meal and NingXia Red are the 1-2 punch our body needs for Total Wellness.

Let me know what you thought of this article and let me know if you think you are getting enough protein in your diet.
